wiikey and wii update question
i have a NTSC wii with wiikey. i believe the wiikey is version 1.9s and the wii's firmware has not been updated since SSBB. i plan to update my wii by either internet connection or from an update inside a recent wii game (of the same region as my wii). after doing so, will i be able to....
1. continue playing my older wii backups as well as newer games(both backups and original copies)?
2. can i continue to buy and play games from the wiishop channel?
3. will i still be able to go online(both online gaming and web browsing?)
i am not interested in using homebrew or playing other region games. i would also like to avoid using wii update manager, brickblocker, or any of those update/code removal programs.
thank you so much!!!!!
not to update ur wii by connecting to Nintendo Server. it forces u to 4.2x and u're in trouble. use firmware_updater_4.0; 4.1 at the most.
the trend is to play ISOs thru usb-hdd, of which would cover the capability to play other region games. so, what's ur next choice fm not touching homebrew ?
yeah, ur preference to avoid brickblocker and code/title remover are comprehensive. be it.

do you think i will eventually need to start using usb hdd instead of burning isos to dvds? also, would you mind telling me the names of the programs that allow updates in games to be removed/disabled?
yeah ive been outta the loop on things for a while. i come back and everyone is downgrading, softmodding, running emulators etc etc. its just a bit much to take in all at once i guess.
