    wii speak alternative?

Just quick question, Can I use a basic USB microphone (or headset) instead of the wii speak for games that require wii speak?

I was thinking about that myself..
But I decided to buy the official thing. It wasn't that expensive, pretty cheap actually. And not that I got it, I'm pretty sure you would need the official WiiSpeak mic. Because it had a little adapter thing on the cord. And I'm sure it's used for some sort of recognition or something of that sort..

I haven't tried it with a USB mic yet. Because I didn't own one, it was easier just to buy the WiiSpeak and atleast support Ninty at the smaller things.. xD

I'm almost positive nintendo's ios for wiispeak only supports their own products hardware. And if I was nintendo, I wouldn't do it anyother way. With all the piracy, they need money. Infact they are down 53% in profits to last year, and are still smoking sony and microsoft.

Does that mean you got your regular USB mic to work after you installed the WiiSpeak IOS on your system? Because if that works, all you need to do is install a WAD installation of the nessesary IOS, and plug in a regular USB mic and give it a try!

I could upload those WADs for you if you want to try it..
    What do you say, pennywaltz..?

I plan to buy a usb mic for Team Fortress 2, I'll let you know when I do, and if no one else has tried, I'll give it a whirl.

ok of the 3 usb microphones i have all 3 gave the error the wiispeak accessory is not connected. Please turn the wii off and reconnect your wii speak accessory. So it appears for this one you need to purchase nintendos toys wich as blubird said is the responsible way to go remember without nintendo we wouldn't be here.
