Super quick question please? About USB Loader GX and patches or brick blockers?
I know that I can force the USB Loader to play a PAL game (I am on NTSC-U) by changing the settings but do I also need to load some sort of brick blocker or patch or something in order to do this or does the USB Loader GX do it for me?
Thanks and sorry if this seems like a dumb question.
Do you have preloader installed? Preloader has an option to block disc updates and can also be used to recover your wii in some cases. This would be the way to go if you're worried about out of region games. After that it's messing with force ntsc settings and stuff like that. What are your settings? Softmod? Chip? System menu version?...
Thanks for the quick response!
Let me start by saying that I'd never so much as played a Wii game until I used Messie's hack so I am not all that smart at this as I'd like to be with this yet. I have 4.2U (I used the Nintendo update without knowing what I was doing) and have NeoGamma 7, USB loader GX and those things (see-that is what I mean by not so smart yet-those "things") that he's got in his tut. My Bootmii is an IOS, not a boot2. I've been using the NeoGamma for my backups and that's been working but haven't tried the USB Loader yet to run the PAL games and just dont want to screw things up.
Did I give you the info you are looking for or do you need more?
PS - I didn't use the preloader yet because the directions sounded SO complicated and after searching all day for this answer, I feel like my head is going to explode. I should have asked earlier but I didn't want to seem "needy"
When you play a game from USB Loader GX, the disc update will be blocked both ways, playing from hard drive or playing from disc with USB Loader GX disc loader. No need to brick block or preloader stuff.
OMG that is the best thing I've heard all day! Thank you!

Thank you so much! I was so worried about this stuff. I've got information overload from the past few days.
