No it doesn't have to be that 'big', however 26MB is pretty small by today's standard and you'll be limiting the amount of stuff you can experience through homebrew apps. You can pick up a Sandisk 2GB for about the price of a pint of beer or two.

ok will see, is there like a top 10 homebrew apps?

well yes and no but i would consider investing in a bigger card, incase you do a NAND backup or use VC etc.

I'm using a 16GB SDHC card for my Homebrew uses.. Works fine, except for games without support fo it..!

I highly recommend the SanDisk 2GB cards. They are dirt cheap and so far work with everything. I have a Patriot 16GB SDHC coming in the mail (a friend of mine already uses one with his Wii so I know it will work).

It's easy to fill these SD cards up. wad2nand WiiWare and roms eat up a ton of space.

I picked up the Patriot 16GB for $32 yesterday. Works with everything I have tried.

BootMii file browser and NAND backup
    Homebrew
    Wad Manager
Still have to try emulators but so far so good.
