Is it possible to play Wii games through your network?
    If so, how?

For example, say I have animal crossing on my hard drive but I have no DVD burner :P, how could I play the game so that it loads through my router?

It is not possible. A wii game is 4.37 GB, Do you think a router can stream all that data to a console with 512 MB fast enough to load with no problems? I think not.

Rofl, I didn't even think of the space, cause I was thinking of using a router as a flash drive, like when you put games on a flash drive and it reads from that, except it would be sent from the router. But I dunno if that's possible, it would take a while to load I'm sure of that but.. ah, was just curious.. thanks for the reply.

I was just googling this on the net and found this thread. Both of you don't understand what streaming is, it has nothing to do with taking the whole iso and uploading it to the wii. You can stream gamecube games on a gamecube and it is the same size iso so don't give me that crap. It is possible however its a matter of finding if the app exists or if someone is currently developing it. That is all.

When you stream data from a network it doesn't have to copy the entire file to the new system. It just access's it from the network drive, and the network is a hella lot faster then the DVD drive in the Wii. With that logic the Wii would copy the whole DVD to itself each time you tried to play a game. It just keeps what it's using in memory and gets the rest as needed. I'm sure it's possible but with all of the USB HD stuff already out I doubt anyone will go to the trouble.
