Talking hello again, its me, mr. outdated

as ive posted before i have a USA wii v3.3U with twilight hack, Home brew Channel, and Gecko OS with #002 fix. i think my wii is also modded with D2Ckey. i use mostly backup games.

im interested in buying a router for my wii. i have some questions:

1.will i be able to play online without being detected that im using backup games?

2.will i brick my wii if i update online?

3.does the game region matters if playing online?

can anyone point out a tutorial for this or better yet answer directly, thanks and Godbless to all!

    1) I've been playing on-line with a modded Wii for sometime now, so i don't forsee it beoing a problem [just don't use Ocarina Cheats while online, that will get you banned]

    2) you won't brick but doing an official N update will wipe any mods from the console

    3) I havn't played many games online, and the ones i have played on-line just so happen to be from my region, so i couldn't definitively answer that sorry

I would like to add, it is possible to brick doing the 4.2 update from Nintendo, most likely you will not brick but it is possible. Some Wii's that were not modified got bricked, so take your chances with that. If you want to keep your softmods then never do an official Nintendo update.

I never played online before, my firmware is 3.2, so I never tried. I did go online with Conduit once and it did not ask me to update, but right away exited the game. Then something wierd happened on the next game I played, I pressed the home button on the Wiimote and the exit screen came up and it was in Japanesse print. So I never went online to play anymore. But if anybody has had a problem playing online I'm sure we would be reading about it.

Ive already played online with mario kart which has the 3.4 firmware update in it. Im running 3.2 and the game worked fine. I also dont think region has anything to do with it. Region has to do with tv output, not gameplay.
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.
