Post alternate solution to play other region games after wii 4.2 update?

    hello

i updated my wii without know the effects that 4.2 does, as i was convinced that wii update never effect chip.

so after update my wii can only play orginal and backup PAL games, i cant play NTSC-US backup or orginal. since the update kills region free.

what i dont understand is that my can boot wiikey 2 config disk without any problems so it should also boot NTSC-US too.

does anyone know any alternate solution which allow me to play NTSC-US games safely? i alo try to patch games to change the game region using regionfree but no luck.

if you guys want to install enythig on me wii can u please privide line to TUT to install thet software safely. is there any risk of installing HBC on 4.2 or coud anything go wrong during the installation?

please help me out, as this will also help other too

    thanks.

not sure if there is a fix for the chip itself, but you could always softmod your wii, guide linked in my sig.

I believe you can back up with a softmod. Its called a nand backup. It takes about 10 min to do this, but its worth it if you screw up.Yes you can brick your wii if you do something wrong.I've been debating for a while myself about this, but its just not worth it yet for me.For the future, you can update from a original disc from your region...no need to do this from nintedo.

try using gecko os. first, do a bannerbomb on your wii and then download gecko os from google () ,i mean search it first and then download it.Then load it to your wii via homebrew channel which has done by bannerbomb, and then, open the application "gecko os" and change the option "region free" into "yes" and launch the game. have fun this works 100%, because this is how I am playing my games now )

note: anything which may damage to your wii is under your responsibility. But, i dont think that bannerbomb has a risk. also, loading gecko doesn't have any risk, either using it too.
