Black screen on American Idol
OK - so I modded my, Wii put USB Loader gx on it, got a 1TB drive, put cios38 rev14 on, everything works fine.
My brother-in-law saw it and got me to do his, followed the same procedure and his one gets a black screen on American Idol 1 and 2
Does anybody know what ios it uses?
Thanks in advance for any help and from what I have seen on this site so far I feel I should apologise to messie in advance

Bro-in-law is out tonight, I will report back asap
i installed ioses 53 55 38 but i still get a black screen with both games
Hmm... i think you must find what ios this game runs on and find it and install it. (stay away from ios50 and ios60 tho)
also must be a crappy game, so play one of the more interesting ones
It's for the kids

no idea. try to set it to play with ios222 or 223 on usb loader or try neogamma with a Disc... may work
Some people may notice getting a black screen when trying to run certain games. The reason this happens is because the game is trying to load an IOS not available on your console. To Solve the problem you will need to install the IOS via Wad Manager.
1x SD Card
WAD Manager or DOP-IOS
A Wii ISO (One that doesn't have its update partition removed)
Both IOS Patcher and Wii Scrubber can be downloaded [URL=http://www.mediafire.com/?gjtikywmhjn]here[URL]
Before you start unzip the downloaded files
STEP 1 - Find Out What IOS A Game Needs
Drag the .iso file onto IOSPatcher. A screen telling you what IOS the game needs should come up. Remember it or Write It Down.
Step 2 - Extract the Required IOS
Next Run WiiScrubber.exe
WiiScrubber should open. Press Load ISO.
Browse for and open the same .iso that was dragged onto IOSPatcher
Next Expand the update partition. This is the Partiton that says Partition: 0 - Update.
Next expand the part that's called _sys
Next Scroll down until you find the same IOS number that was in IOSPatcher in this case, its IOS55. Right click the IOS file and select Extract. Save this into the WAD folder on the root of your sd card.
STEP 3 - Installing the IOS
1)With your sd card inside your wii, load homebrew channel then load Wad Manager. I'd recommend using WAD manager v1.4 or v1.5
2)If you're asked to select an IOS for install select IOS249 then install the .wad file you got from WiiScrubber.
The Game should now run fine.

found this hope it helps
It's chipped with a drivekey so disc is always an option but defeats the purpose of having the loader. We have tried it with 222 and 223
We will keep trying and report back
It is a bit older than my Wii, don't know if that would make a difference
