    LU71 - 4.2 need ideas?

Any ideas how to install homebrew and play backup games?
I immediately updated after purchase.. maybe I did something wrong there?

    help would be appreciated.

Follow this guide. It should get you on the right track!

Myself, I used the Smash Stack bug with Smash Bros Brawl and used the HackMii installer to get HBC on. I'm not sure how different the first part of that guide is.

You may want to check with messie, but I'm pretty sure it should work. Are you on version 4.2 now? Please note that installing the Homebrew channel is not all that is required to play backup games

Well, don't think of Homebrew as an option for playing backups. Think of it more like a doorway. You need homebrew installed in order to run one of the programs that will play backups, whether that program is WiiFlow, USB Loader GX, etc. There are steps in between the install of HBC and the running of the loader program that you must handle though otherwise the programs won't work.

Your options are really softmod, or hardmod (modchip).

the guide will work for all... just follow it to the letter, it aint that hard.

ps, your mutant wii must have had a problem with upgrade... the boot2 upgrade on 4.2 is full of holes as hackmii guys mention, so dont take it for granted that bootmii boot2 is dead on 4.2

It's problem is to my benefit. I haven't had any issues with it, but I must say that some guides say that if you have 4.2, you have no choice but an IOS install.
