Noob question. How to played burned copies?

    Hi everyone,

I just got the Homebrew Channel installed using the bannerbomb method which was fairly straight forward. I got a few things installed with homebrew browser such as emulators and its all very exciting.

I've been reading what I need to do to play burned copies of the games I own. I read somewhere that gecko OS would accomplish this, however I then read that this is only for Wii's modded with a chip and cannot play them if you used a softmod method. I'm running firmware 4.1U.

With so much information out there, I'm a little lost on which to follow. Can someone clarify if I can use gecko os to run burned games; if not can you provide some details and what I need to do.

    Thank you in advance.

reading the guides already on the forum would have been a good start.

Thanks, I just found that link like 5 minutes after I posted on the forum. I probably still would have asked because I wanted to make sure thats the one to use. Don't want to brick my little brothers Wii. I'm just doing this for the fun of it; I already have my emulators on the wii to play super mario brothers :-)
