How much should it cost to mod my wii in in california, bay area if I have the modchip? (d2c btw)
Can a noob soldier it or is that total out of the question?
There's some awesome work on that thread.
I wish I could save $100 and do it myself.
I live in England and have just had the d2ckey chip fitted in my Wii.
The chip was fitted while I waited by an electronics engineer.
BELIEVE me its no job for even an intermediate solderer.
Very small, very tiny joints and very fiddly.
They guy who fitted it had magnifying scope the works.
He used a very fine wire and explained everything as he went along.
I trained as an Electronic service engineer at college which did mean a fair bit of soldering - BUT EVEN I WOULDN'T TRY IT!!!!!
Even so, the d2ckey chip works fantastically.
Hope you find someone to do the job - BUT don't try it yourself it seems quite easy to fry your WII!!!!
Mario strikers works fine online,
I have a backup of Super Mario Galaxy and that works fine.
I have no problems updating my Wii online.
I remove the updates from discs with Wii Brick Blocker just so my Wii doesn't use an NTSC update which would lock up my Wii.
Hope this helps you.
I'm asking because my cousin's Wii is modded but I updated it with an original of Mario Galaxy and had to reset it to get it to work again...
Did you run the Galaxy update? Also, you played it with original or backup copy? if backup, did it require the upgrade?
so how much do you think I should pay to have it installed?
I live in california the bay area...some one tried to charge me $200
no way am I gunna spend that much
you sure a chip cost that much. I saw the D2CKey chip itself on a website for around $50.00 on sale the other day. I would pay no more then $75 for the D2C install process it self.
I have a d2b with the 3 legs missing, I payed $30.00 for my install with my clear blue light up case. I did tip they guy $20.00 Craigslist is your friend.
Though now a days I would probably just solder it myself, even a d2c, just would take alot of time and patience.
