question LH2 4.0E possible to hack

    Hi,

I have a brand new wii Europe PAL (model RVL-001 and LEH 252). Until now I did install homebrew, DVDx and bootmii with the same SD hackwii. Bootmii only option to install was IOS. My system is currently at 4.0E original(updated when bought). My question this wii version can be patched to load usb backs and dvd backups? What guide do I follow to hack it, without risk of brick? Some say that install preload bricks and others that is not possible to downgrade. Another question, is possible to remove any trace of hacking with this system?

    I appreciate any help.

So you've just softmodded and now you want to remove all traces of your softmod? Wouldn't it be a waste of time providing you with a comprehensive list of things to do to enable usb loaders and dvd backups?

You can't downgrade your Wii as it will brick but you can do just about everything else with it, with little or no risk of brick if you follow reputable tutorials.

Use the wonderful search feature and the fantastic tutorials created by our excellent members and superb staff to do what you want.

apply BackUpLauncher, NeoGamma,.... , kind of, for ur expectations.
as long as u don't install it as channels, no risk of bricking.

About the remove of traces, just for ask, I don't plan for this now. However since it's on warranty it's good to know how to remove all the stuff.

    Other question...

Is it safe to install preloaded? There are some guys bricking if it's done in different order.

    Thanks a lot

Then follow the correct order and you'll be fine. Deviate from the procedure and you're taking your chances.

Great news! I did install without bricking. The only think I didn't was preloaded.
Now I can see a newgamma channel. Is that possible to install preload later? What is advantage of having preload on a bootmii on IOS?

After that I formated EXFAT my HD WD My book 2 1TB with 1 partition of 100 meg. Formated to WBFS and drop a iso file for testing. But no success with Newgamma and Usb loader GX, both don't recon, just a countdown. Any ideia?

    Thanks Again! I almost there...

You need to install cIOS38 rev 14 from waninkoko (google)
If it wont install u need to use Trucha Bug Restorer(google that too)

Without Bootmii/Boot2 as an option he'll have to definately stay away from the intricate indepth softmodding. Just stay with the basic and you'll be fine. Don't bother with installing various custom menu themes/custom channel wads there's a chance you'll come across at least one that's buggy and don't uninstall any IOS' etc. Read around this board you'll be able to find out your console hack limits.

Nintendo' most inspired core game titles are stuck overseas. Nintendo Of America sux when it comes to the localization of these game titles as they court with their new found casual gamer/soccer mom audience this console generation. Thus indirectly promoting the growth of Homebrewing & basically telling their core audience if they want it, mod chip or Homebrew it. Thanks Nintendo! My Wii and its functionalities have never felt more complete than when I took my first sip of the Brew. - Brewaholic
