WiiKey Mod Chip For Nintendo Wii ORIGINAL
I am interested in buying a WiiKey Mod Chip For Nintendo Wii ORIGINAL but I have no clue whatsoever how to do it. I never did any kind of soldering before. Could you guys help me out please?
Is it worth it?
Does the emulated games look as good as the ones we download via the Wii Shop?
Can we still play live?
If the modchip is ever to be detected by Nintendo and is disabled, is there any safe way to remove the chip and get back your old Wii to its original state?
Can we play anything else than Snes, Wii and GameCube games?
Thanks for your time!
If you have never done any type of soldering before, I suggest you find someone who has done soldering to install it for you. It is MUCH more worth it than screwing over your Wii because of a bridged connection or burnt leg.
A modchip is worth it. Consider the price of the modchip... Lets say $45 (because thats how much the D2Ckey cost me >_>). And then assuming you pay someone to install it for you... lets say that costs $75. So you end up pulling $120 out of ... wherever you get your money. Considering the cost of most NEW games (40-60) You will have essentially gotten back the price of your modchip and installation (minus the price of DVDs) with 4 games. You will most likely get more than 4 games. =\
Yes, after modding the Wii, you can still go online and play live.
Nintendo doesn't detect the modchip and disable it. What might happen though is that an update *may* brick your Wii. I have no idea how to fix that, sorry.
Not sure, never played SNES games off of a DVD backup, probably wont either. But Wii and Gamecube work. I doubt you can play anything but Wii & Gamecube due to hardware compatability. (i.e. you cant play a PS2 game on an XBox)
What I meant by Snes roms and such was related to the games you can buy on the Nintendo online shop. Isn't there any way to have them all without the cost attached to each one of them?

I have been thinking of getting a WiiiKey also. Should I get it from a reseller, or from the company that makes it. The company that makes it sells it for 8 dollars.
If it's cheaper to go with the company that makes the modchip then go with the company. It's probably more secure than a reseller. But resellers listed on the official WiiKey site should be trustworthy enough.
I heard you can't go on Internet anymore after installing the modchip...
Once again, I'm not too familiar with the WiiKey. But with the D2Ckey I can still connnect to the internet. I've used the internet so far to use the Weather Channel, News Channel, Check Mii Out Channel *basically anything that is free in the WiiShop including the WiiShop*. I've also tried updating online ranks for GhostSquad NTSC-J. I am going to get Call of Duty 3 burned soon to try the online play for that game. Ill let you know how that works out.
Thank you I shall wait for your answer
Call of Duty 3 doesnt have online play....
