    Sharing NAND's...

    Hi!

I don't know if this was posted before or even tried before and reported.

I have a NAND copy of my wii, done with the BootMii (cIOS, my wii doens't install as boot2).

Now, I have a friend that had semi-bricked his Wii updating with Wii Sports Resort (I don't even know how people still update from GAMES, since Nintendo sucks bad with its updates online OR not and all these issues reported...).

Anyway, my idea is trying to restore MY NAND backup to his wii, through BootMii, if I can reach it someway, installing HackMii or whatever(I haven't seen his video game, he just told me, so I don't know which IOS or firmware it is)

Did anyone try it? Did it work?

    Thanks

It will cause issues as you need to change the ECC codes or something

As sociallyanti said it will cause issues such as same friends codes for wii and games and im not sure if you can use a NAND Dump from a different wii since all wii NANDs have an encryption called the common-key.bin and each wii's key.bin is different

Yes, I highly suggest you do not try this. I dont know if this is true, but I heard somewhere that every wii's nand is encrypted in a different way, and the encryption key is stored somewhere on the wii other than the nand.
If I helped you out, Please Thank me vvvv>

the only way that ive heard about swapping nands is by giving it to bushlin, he charges for it and needs the nand keys from the bricked wii as well as a full nand backup from the working wii! im sure boot 2 has to replace boot2 and vice versa.

    check out wiibrew forums fixmii.
