    Bricked Wii after GH3 update.

I woke up this morning with friends telling me that my wii wasn't working anymore.

Apparently while I was sleeping, they tried to play GH3, accepted the update *sigh* and came back to a black screen.

I have both versions of GH3 lying around (original and the replacement) and they don't even know which one they used, but I assume this doesn't really matter..?

Savemiifrii won't work, and apparently my install of bootmii wasn't succesfull as I can't access it either (but I never got around to doing a NAND dump anyway..) I don't have a modchip.

I have a 1st gen Wii if that helps, and it's been out of warranty for a while.

Am I out of luck here, and do I have only myself to blame for not finishing my install of bootmii correctly, thinking I was fine for a while as I wasn't going to do any update anyway?

You fell into the deadly trap of disk updating. No recovery if you downgrade and updated threw a disk with a 3.4 update or above then there is no recovery.

    This time i made sure....

Pretty much what I thought. The replacement disk from Activision most likely had 3.4. Apparently they didn't have a choice when they started the game, and they didn't think about resetting the system so they hit OK, and then felt bad.

So now the only option is to wait for a miraculous fix to "cold flash", w/o deleting everything else. I won't hold my breath.

    Thanks.
