let it update - it won't hurt unless it's the wrong region...
Hello, I recently just went through hell to install HBC and everything else possible and thankfully I did not brick my Wii. I finished it off with an update to 4.0 then 4.1 with waninkokos updater. I thought that after I had updated to 4.1 all newer games would play so I tried playing Overlord Dark Legend but it asked me to update and it said press OK to update with no way to escape, I held the power button and restarted my Wii, lol.
I have a drivekey installed (which I dont even think helps any now) so whats up with this thing? What could I be missing to boot games from menu? Id really appreciate some help.
Hey, thanks for reply, someone suggested doing an official Nintendo update. Being that im already on 4.1 I dont know if it would even let me and if it does what it would do. Would it just install the missing files? but if I did Waninkokos update to avoid adding some files (I dont know what they were) would that have been a waste? lol
I hold your solution much higher and will most likely go with it but I ask just for my knowledge. Id like to learn a little about all this and not just blindly run these programs.
EDIT: I went to go try it out but after that first screen another comes up saying" If your Wii console includes unauthorized modifications, this update may detect and remove unauthorized content causing immediate or delayed inoperability of your console."
Do you think it would be better to just install the ISOs the game is looking for manually?

woah, I took a look at Call of Duty 3 and it only had two things, an IOS and something else but Overlord is loadedddddddd. Theres 23 IOS and 9 RVL whatever that means.
Hmmm is there any program that will install all current IOS without problem because I dont even know which of those in that list im missing.
When I get this other Wii all hacked out and if it allows bootmii ill give that disc update a go and see what happens, lol. Im worried about this 1 although im sure you know exactly what your talking about and if I did it id be fine.
dop-ios will allow you to view the IOS and versions of your IOS on your Wii. Beware though you can really muck up your Wii fiddling with it.
Use it as a viewer only and you'll be fine.
Been meaning to check my own Wii for a few days for versions.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
ok, what program do i use to install them? I just followed the guides before, dont remember any specific program used.
EDIT: ah theyre .wads, so I guess id be able to use wad manager. Quick question, could installing wiiware lead to a bricked system??? theyre cool and all but I dont want to be installing/uninstalling loads of them if it can brick my system

awesome, thanks for the info, im on a good private site so no need to worry for me about bad wads
i installed both those IOS with wadmanger 1.5 but it still says to update in the disc channel, i think ill try that dop-ios program just to see what IOS I have in my system and compare that to all the IOS that wiiscrubber showed me the game had so i can see if im missing any, if i have them all then i dont know, lol
EDIT: using drop-ios it seems a lot of my IOS are outdated, most have a newer version, what does this suggest I do in terms of stopping the disc update?
