Angry softmoded 4.0u, burned discs just spin

I'm new to softmoding. I'm on 4.0u. I've followed the softmodding for dummies guide I found on this forum. I followed it exactly and got no errors while installing any of it. Everytime I put a burned disc in and try to play it through back-up launcher, the screen stays black and it sounds like the disc is just trying to speed up over and over. I've used 3 different .iso all burned on TDK DVD-Rs. I've tried each of the 3 burned at different speeds, from 1x-4x, on imgburn. I also tried burning one through Nero at 3x as well. Same results.

Are you trying to play copies of newer games?

It's possible that the games are trying to run on updates to IOS that you have not yet installed. These issues seen in more recent releases such as Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Conduit etc..

Try an older game if this is the case to rule out this thought.

I've tried Mario Party 8, Punch Out and Mario Super Sluggers. I used the IOS that came in the zipped package from the "for dummies" guide i found on this forum. Where would I find the lasted IOS though?

Hi there, I'm pretty much in the same boat, being new to softmodding etc... I.E past 2 days, and My system at the time was 4.1e

Only thing for me here is that I've done that much to my Wii, that I don't actually know what i've done... Homebrew and 95% channels work fine, just backups.

There was one point where I got TW10 to work, but none of my others, then I changed boot loaders, and then none, but out of the 10 or so DVD's I've burnt, only TW10 booted up. All the others do just as Deken1 says... Black screen and the DVD keeps spinning.

    Ah... think it's sorted.

Tried this NeoGamma R4-NGBL Backup Launcher that I found on these forums, and it seems as though it has sorted my problem.

Hope this sorts yours out too.
