Check out this modchip chart.
Hi, just joined, and I need help choosing a chip. I have some criteria (relatively simple) that must be fulfilled:
1. Must be easy to install. No soldering 30 wires. I've never soldered anything before, and I probably wouldn't care if it was with my own Wii, but I'm doing this for a friend, so I don't want anything to go wrong (makes Wasabi Zero look good to me).
2. Must be upgradable via DVD. I think most are anyway.
3. Must run Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart. I've heard these described as "problem titles", which worries me a little.
I don't know what version my friend has exactly, but he got it in 2006 or early 2007. I'm not even sure if this matters anymore though.
I saw that thread. It's the one where I learned about the Wasabi zero. I can't learn everything from a chart though. The zero may have all those features listed, but is it a reliable chip?
thx for the link this helped me out
yes, help me too.
id recommend going with the solderless d2pro over wasabi zero unless youre getting an authentic wiiclip for the wasabi zero, the included fake wiiclip for wasabi zero have given us a lot of headaches which is why we dropped wasabi zero and only carry wasabidx now.
If you want something non clip that is very very easy then the drivekey and wasabidx will both work. I tend to lean to drivekey because of the jtag ribbon thats included, and we know a jtag programmer exists for it. Dont get me wrong its dvd updatable but dvd updates can only update the SPI on a chip not the FPGA , only a jtag connection can reprogram that. So its good to have it incase you ever need it.
