Thread: Usb Loader question

    Usb Loader question

Well I was wondering if the usb loader will work with my 4.0E wii?
Also the tut on this site is mostly for anything below 4.0 so does anyone has a tut to use the usb loader in 4.0 with their latest versions.

Also with a usb loader, do I just have to put ISO files in it and plug it on my wii and it all done?
+ do I have to make the usb HD empty and than putting iso files in it and can I just leave all the other shit on it and putting the iso file in it?
And another question, does the iso files have to be in the root?

I am having 4.0E wii with usb loader (gx and waninkoko 1.5) working just great. I just installed homebrew channel when I had 3.2E, then upgraded to 4.0E and everything still worked.

You can not use ISO files with usb loader. USB Loader expects disk images to be in special format on WBFS partition. Better erase all your HDD and usb loader will create special WBFS partition automatically. Then you will be able to dump discs from usb loader to this partition. Or you can use Windows progam (for example WBFS Manager) to copy ISO files to WBFS partition.

and what is this "special format"?

go to this site to get wbfs

WBFS Manager - Release: WBFS Manager 3.0

Install this program on your PC

This program allows you to format your disk in wbfs and then load wii iso's onto it.

When the disk is formatted and attached to the wii you can use usb loader to play the games on the hard disc or to add more games to it from dvd's without using your pc.

And this will work on a wii with 4.0?
What else do you need(except usb loader)?

    I have a 4.0e wii.
    I use wbfs 3.01 and usbloader 1.5.
My hd is a 150gb laptop (2.5") drive
I used to use it in my laptop partitioned as the only drive. When I upgraded my laptop with a larger drive I formatted this hd with the pc formatter and then formatted it again using wbfs. I loaded a couple of wii iso's and then plugged it into the wii. The usbloader found it straight away and I ran one of the games no problem.
That's all I remember doing to get it to work.

I've searched like hell but it's all to complicated with all the cIOS and downgraders and running older versions(like cbjones running 1.1 instead of 1.5).
I've managed to install HBC and found out how to run apps but then I think I installed the wrong cIOS(36) and now usbloader(1.5) returns an error(diffrent from the one when I tried to run it without a cIOS).

The guides might seem idiot proof for people who already know all that stuff but they aren't that great for beginners.
