I thought I was close...but no cigar...yet !
I am a complete newbie so go easy on me LOL!
I thought I was 100% there but I seem to be falling at the last hurdle and would appreciate some help
1) I have used Zelda to implement the HBC
2) I have used CIOS installer v0.3 beta WIIgator (states it is required to play the latest version of the Backup launcher"
3) I then use Backup Launcher v0.3 beta WIIGator to launch a backed up game - The particular game is Call of Duty which I have borrowed from a friend, to see all this works
I click "launch game" and after a few seconds it shows me the config menu (I havent changed any of the options) although I can see references to PAL and NTFC
I then get the Wii menu saying about attaching the safety strap etc
I then get the Activision Logo of the game
then the screen goes black and says "Loading..." at the bottom
Then I get a message
"An error has occurred. Press the EJECT Button, remove the Game disc and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operations Manual for more information"
Can anybody suggest what I have done wrong or that I can check ?
try using cios rev10 (latest)
You deserve a cigar mate...that advice did the trick perfect
Sincerest thanks for the advice
press teh thanks button on my post
and youre welcome
Certainly worth the thanks and I have clicked it !
That's what former President Bill Clinton said when he was asked to compare Hillary to Monica... Close but no cigar...
Now I have this Backed up game...how do I make a copy of it ?
if I put it in my PC's DVD drive then it cant see the disk
Do I need special software to read it ?
You need a special drive. LG drives are the ones.
What you can do is put disc in the wii and dumped it to your pc via ftp.
I've just had a thought. If you have a USB external drive then you could dump the disc to that via your wii.
This seems the way to go now. Lots of guys on here are now using external HDD for storing their games and loading them via usb loader channel.
Just of word of warning though a couple of games do not load via USB loader and one of them is COD3. COD world ar war is OK, tested and played OK by me via USB HDD.
Loads of info on the forum. Have a look it is deffo better having games on a little black square box instead of having a massive pile of discs sat next to your tv.
