Unhappy Wii ISO Unable to Read (Verbatim)

I burned a copy of Metroil Prime Corruption onto a Verbatim 4.7 GB DVD-R. I used IMGburn at 2.4x speed an verified the disc. When I insert the disc into the Wii, the Wii does not recognize it! I don't know what is wrong because my burner is working fine. I already wasted 5 discs trying to get a good copy. I downloaded DVDx and all that crap. All help appreciated!

what is the error message? what is your wii doing when you insert the disk? I have yet to meet a mind reader, have you tried typing what your wii does into the search box?

The Wii won't play backups without a mod chip or a soft mod and a backup launcher. The Wii will really only recognize your backups if you have a mod chip, however, the backup launcher will play them even though they won't show up in the Disc Channel window (so I am given to understand - I don't use a backup launcher).

Once you get all that worked out burning verbatims at 4x is fine as long as you have a good burner. Hell... I have no problems with Verbatims at 8x but it depends on your setup. Mine won't even let me burn at 2.4x because that speed isn't supported. Nero works good for burning. It only lets you choose speeds that are supported. You may want to stop making coasters until you work things out.

it might be a dodgy torrent?

It might be a dodgy torrent, but really unlikely (cuz there was a lot of thanks). I do have the backup channel but whenever i start it, the screen slowly dims and eventually turns off. i do NOT have a modchip but i do have homebrew channel. the DVD-R is a 4.7 gb, 16x speed, and 120 min. What do i do????

the error message is a "Unable to Read Disc. Check the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting."
