Wad install error 1022 - help!
I'm running firmware 3.3E. From factory. Has drivekey modchip.
Would like to install the internet channel. So I downloaded the pal internet channel.wad from net. When I try installing I get error -1022 (using wad installer 1.3)
I found the ultimate downgrade guide here in the forum. (I'm guessing I'm doing the right thing so far. Please correct me if I dont need to downgrade)
At step to run the IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad At this step again I have an error.
installing content #01...error! (ret = -1022)
Can someone help? Thanks in advance.
(Forgot, i installed one version maybe ntsc because it frooze every time i ran the chaneel. so I uninstalled it from the wii menu. i saw someone mention that this could be the reason, so I've now used the minus key to uninstall the pal version, but the other thing is the other wad i tried to install had never been installed. Will try download the ntsc net channel and running the - installer.)
it also happen to me when i install wad.
Did you have a .png file and a .xml file with your .wad files? I think that might be the problem because I didn't have that and was searching through the internet like crazy for two days
no. thats wrong. png and xml goes with the dol file and has nothing to do with it.
try using wad manager 1.4 after installing cios36 rev10
Sorry, that's what I meant. Anyways, your directory should look like this:
1. SD/apps/wad/.dol .xml .png files
2. SD/wad/.wad files
Hope this helps
you dont have to have the .png files/.xml files in there. only the .dol/.elf
but thats not the problem here
Hey, thanks for the tips.....Yes it seems to be the issue was with the wad installer. I downloaded the 1.3 again, (before I read the response about 1.4 being out), formatted the SD card just to be on the safe side, recopied the wad installer and wad file onto SD card and worked like a charm.
ThetaSigma, I see you mention installing cios36 rev10, what is this for? Or do you have a link re: cios that gives a description of why I would want to put it on my system?
Thanks for everyones help!
cios can fix many things. wiidoggi your link is WAAAY out of date.
Some wads dont work with a FAT formated SD
Try formating into FAT32
Your wad could have something wrong it
Or your wii doesn't have enough blocks
You do not need to downgrade
