Thread: SD Card 8.0 GB Wii with 4.0u

Unhappy SD Card 8.0 GB Wii with 4.0u

updated today to 4.0u. I have Wii with Twilight Princess hack, I could load wads, and apps no problem. I even had usb loader working with a 8gb flash drive. Updated and now I tried to reload cios to get usb loader working. Can't open sd card in wii after adding files in Windows 7. I didn't get a prompt to load shop channel. I used the guide on how to upgrade to 4.0u from here. Also, I was wondering if there was a way to load videos to my 8.0 usb drive and watch on the wii. I found a media player and can play dvd's in the wii. I'm guessing I need to worry about the wii sd card issue first.

Try formatting your card with this tool, hopefully it'll fix it it for you As for playing movie files off your usb, MPlayer agentx mod does this flawlessly! Give it a go..

its a sd card formatting tool that works well for wiis, dunno what the difference is with mplayer as ive never used ce but i do know that it works very well at playing xvid off of usb/dvdr

well the sd formatter didnt work for my HC card... and the mplayer doesnt have the up to date codecs.. mplayer ce does... oh wells.. but i wish ce was a channel vs. having to load it through HBC...

card formatter doesn't work for me either. I can delete the partition in windows, put it in the wii, the wii initializes it and I can copy files to it. Put it in my pc to copy folder to it, then wii says it can't use it.

i bet your card reader doesnt support SDHC, i had the same problem when i went to 8gb. i got a new scan disk multi reader that support sdhc and this corrected the problem

    Sdhc

Hi, I was thinking of buying a 16gb SDHC card, but before I do here is my setup and can someone tell me if my wii will read it before I buy:

Wii, with 3.4e menu with HBC. It's got the WiiDump on there as well, but not sure about the rest or where to find what I need to know to answer the above question.

The other alternative is the 8gb normal SD, but will it read that as well?

Thanks for this great site and any answers are appreciated.

which card reader doesn't support it? I can copy files to the card fine from my pc, and if I delete the partition, the wii will initialize the card and I can copy save games to it.
