Question downgrading 3.4u to 3.2u problem

hello, sorry if this is kinda long. but i am trying to be as specific as possible.

i finally broke down and bought a wii last week and i tried to downgrade yesterday. (note: i have done numerous installs of homebrew channel and wads for friends, but this is my first downgrade as they were all on 3.1u systems)

so, i install the homebrew channel, but it took me a few tries until i found the right data file for it to work. it showed me a disclaimer before i installed about it only being tested on wii system menu version 354 (v22) and that i had wii system menu version 385 (v24 usa) installed. i accepted and the channel installed successfully. i find the tutorial on downgrading from 3.4u to 3.2u and download the files and put them on my sd chip and begin. i did the first two things in step 1

+Load Wad Manager in Homebrew Channel and install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad
+Load Custom WM in Homebrew Channel and install cios_fix.wad
You cannot install this wad with Wad Manager. This is a custom wad manager designed to work for IOS16.
they seemed to do their thing correctly, but this is where things got messed up. i went into homebrew channel and clicked load for the IOS downgrader and it sent me to a black screen where the wii freezes and i have to hold the power button to shut off then restart it. everything else works fine on the wii, i can still play games and load up the homebrew channel, but when i try to load anything up in the homebrew channel; be it the ios downgrader or wad manager ect, it takes me to the same frozen black screen.

i have noticed that my system memory has dropped from roughly 8000 blocks open when i got it, to 2159 blocks open without anything showing in the memory. what i have done so far is uninstall/reinstall the homebrew channel and formatted the wii system memory, but i still experience the black screen if i try to load anything in the homebrew channel.

any help/knowledge is greatly appreciated! thank you! (yes, i still have my receipt if i need to take it back and exchange it)

Have a read of this especially the section on Homebrew
there is 3 methods listed there to downgrade but do yourself a favour

READ it several times before starting

Did you complete these steps correctly ?

+Load Wad Manager in Homebrew Channel and install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad
Yes, even if you have received errors trying to install other wads this should still work.

+Load Custom WM in Homebrew Channel and install cios_fix.wad
You cannot install this wad with Wad Manager. This is a custom wad manager designed to work for IOS16.

I am having a similar problem with black screens, I can Install the first two steps "IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad and cios_fix.wad" but only the custom wm works. Wad Manager 1.3 also gives me a black screen, but custom wm works on the ios16-64-v257-prod.wad it says it installs ok.
...It''s when I try to install or load any of the downgraders to downgrade from 3.4u to 3.2u I get the black screen and have to press power for 5 seconds. I am using the EOC files and guide. I have tried all the downgraders loaded in the pack and every time I get the black screen. I have formatted my Wii several times and reloaded the twilight hack and HBC. I can get all the way to where I downgrade, then I get the black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated...I have searched for hours with no luck
