Brandy new Wii owner looking for advice

I been reading quite a bit, and searching.
SO I tried to see what I had, I checked Wii Drive Chip Database - Serial Number Estimation there,
And it reports there isnt enough info, I just bought it Sunday, mainly cause wife and kids want Wii Fit.
I want to chip it cause I learned the hard way with the Xbox, so I soft modd'd that.
Am I gonna have to yank it apart to see what I got, or anybody have any ideas what chip I need?? Or have a recommendation, and will the Wii Fit work with a mod chip, I suppose it depends what one to get.

    Thanks for your time....

while u've experienced the pain of 3Red, i guess u're capable to do fine soldering.
get wiikey2 and solder it onto ur wii. it supports across Drive modulesn and works great on Backups + Originals !!

get away from mod-CLIP.... it's pain like the X-clamp in XBooooooooooooox.

Fine soldering isnt an issue, I have volt modd'd and re'capped many motherboards and videocards.

I live in Central Wisconsin, any place recommended to purchase the chip??

I wouldnt say real young, I will be 39 in June...heh

I hope it works, it says it supports DMS, D2A, D2B, D2C, D2C-2 and D2E chipsets.
I guess I will know in a few days.....

One more thing, am I gonna have to use the brick blocker thingy for backups????
Or because of the chip, it wont need it???

u need to replace the wiikey2 with drivekey, if u receive a d2/nothing......immediately, not in a few days....

no, no to use brick blocker when u apply Gamma Launcher, GeckoOS...etc. BrickBlocker is kind of patching; and classified as "fake signed".
wii f/w 3.3/3.4 and up will block games with fake signed games.

    wiikey2 provides some prevention,
    yet,
as long as u won't pass out-of-region games for ur kids, u're the brick blocker.
