    Question Wiikey and latest update

tried to play a backup of animal crossing but my Wii is asking for another update. Is it safe to do this new update (with the correct region disc)?

    thanks

Yes it safe to update unless you need a lower version to run other things like scrubbed disk and such that with 3.4 you won't be able to play anymore.

If you don't want to update you can always use a softmod.

That usually works without the update.

It not as easy as you might think.

    Follow this tutorial:

    [URL="http://www.wiihacks.com/general-homebrew-hack-issues/10068-guide-region-booting-gecko-os-1-07b.html"]

Once you have your backup loader then your good to go.

Another option is if you have Wiikey2 you can use the config disk to disable updates if you don't want to load homebrew channel.

    Is it safe??

    Hi guys,

First time poster, so please be gentle. I received my brand new Wii
console on Friday 2/20/09, on Sunday I have the Wiikey 2 professionally
installed, I got home with it, connected it and powered on for the first time.

Didn't know better and I saw the system upgrade, ...
After a few minutes of deep thinking, I took the plunge, upgrade the machine and viola it works, I was playing the regular (originals) and homebrew
    games with no trouble.

I will update if my situation (hope not) changes, but so far, so good.

My advice to you is... when in doubt .... don't do it.

Yes. When I update some customers sytems to 3.4 over the wifi animal crossing always asks to update again.

Just update and you are ok (make sure it is from the same region)

Make sure you you run 1:1 backups, no scrubbed games.
