New to this but got most working

Hi i got into this 2 days ago.

My Wii is a 3.4E (uk model)

I ran the twilight hack successfully, installed the homebrew channel.

I then used the advice of this video

And i managed to get lots of VC/WiiWare games installed and working great.

    All good so far.

Next step was to try a back up game,i burnt Wii music with ImgBurn at 2x as instructed.

Tried the gamma loader and it wouldnt boot.

Tried the Back up loader inside the homebrew channel and it gave me disc error -309.

So after a few posts on different forums i assumed the stuff i was using is out of date so i installed 'cios36 rev.7' and i'm now waiting on another burn to see if it works.

Can you tell me if i have done this correctly?

this was the guide i used

Step 1 Lets assume you have already updated your Wii to the latest Firmware.
Step 2 Install the ‘Homebrew Channel’ onto your Wii if you dont have it already (see below)
Step 3 Put the contents of this zip onto your SD Card.
Step 4 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘WAD Manager 3’.
Step 5 Press ‘A’ on the WiiMote once. The Wii should detect a SD Card. Press ‘A’ again to see a list of WADs on the SD Card. Use the ‘D-Pad’ to select ‘IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad’.
Press the ’+’ to install the WAD. Once it has installed the WAD, press the ‘Home’ button to restart you Wii.
Step 6 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘Custom WM’. Now using the same method as in ‘Step 5’, install the ‘cios_fix.wad’. Once it has installed the WAD, press the ‘Home’ button to restart you Wii.
Step 7 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘IOS Downgrader’. Just follow the instructions and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.
Step 8 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘Install Shop IOS51’. Say ‘Yes’ to installing the ‘IOS51’ and ‘Yes’ to patching a fix but ‘No’ to the ‘Wii Shop Channel’
(it shouldn’t matter if you install but it won’t make any difference).
Step 9 Using the ‘Homebrew Channel’, open ‘WAD Manager 3’.
Step 10 Now you should be able to install WADs. Try installing the ‘WAD MANAGER V3.wad’ (use this channel to install any WADs in the furture) and ‘Wii Gator.wad’.
Other apps should also work as well such as ‘AnyRegion Changer’.
I think for the most part i have done this correctly but i think i am missing something simple i keep missing and i can't figure it out :S

Every forum i post on says i need to downgrade to 3.2 but other sites on google say 3.4 is fine :S

You probably get alot of these threads, for which i apologise but there is so much contradicting views/guides that its caused me to mess up.

Could someone please point out to me what i have and havent done wrong?

Thanks in advance and sorry for being a pain in the a**

Ok I have the Wii Gator channel installed also now and tried that and still nothing.

Is it just a bad iso i burned? it was called 'Wii Music - scrubbed-'

I'm currently grabbing House of the Dead - Over kill I'm gonna burn that and try it.

Sureley if i can install VC wads and channels then its a problem with the burn?

I ran IOS downgrader the first time i did it and i think it worked, now if i try and do it again it tells me to press 'a' to agree so i press it then my Wii restarts and i get no option to downgrade.

In the settings menu it says i'm still using 3.4E

Ok i have managed to downgrade to 3.2E and i'm currently burning the new house of the dead game (pal) so i'll let you know if it works.

I had to use the custom IOS Downgrader where you can change your firmwares region...probably would of been a good idea to change it to US as all torrent releases seem to be US and hardly any PAL around but i didnt want to risk my legit games are PAL.

    Anyway,gonna start the starfall next.

Damnit i have installed firmware 2.0E FFS....

Guys please help me out here i'm screwing stuff up.

Reinstalling 3.2E now with fingers crossed i havent screwed my Wii up,seems to be going in ok.

OK I'm finally on 3.2,what options do i need to install on starfall? I opted for the last 3 options.

I'm on 3.2 and neither back up disc will work...just disc reading error (349).

Does this mean media or have i missed something?
