Huh? I think you're confused. Is your PS3 hacked? OFW has to do with the PS3 operating System. Once it's flashed to the system, it's on the system. Pretty sure it doesn't load off the hard drive when you boot
Are you speaking about something else?
Ok I have a ps3 super slim 12 GB I just installed a 500 GB HDD everything is up and running great my question is once this hard drive goes since the OFW went from the flash to the HDD what am I going to do when my hard drive fails in the future and want to replace the HDD how would I get the OFW back on a fresh new HDD I don't care about backing my games up or anything I just want to know about how to get the OFW back on a HDD
I installed a 500 GB to the 12 GB ps3 a message came up that it goes from the flash over to the HDD I was just wondering if my HDD fails later on down the road and I have to reinstall a new HDD how do I get the OFW back on it
Some files are stored on the HDD, and the rest on the Nor chip.
Don't worry about it. If your HDD ever fails, you just put in a new one. Then it will prompt you to install the firmware again. Just like it did when you installed the new one just now.
