Mininum Size Capacity for an SD Card to Softmod 4.3U Wii

I tried looking around for a concrete answer for this question, but I was not able to find one. I just acquired a Wii (4.3U update) and I'm planning to softmod it. I've been reading the recommended guides and they seem easy but detailed enough to follow without any troubles.

I do have a question regarding on what SD card to use, because I'm having some trouble trying to buying an SD card of 2GB or smaller capacity in local stores. In the guides, a 1GB to 2GB SD card is recommended, but I want to know if it's possible to use SD cards of larger capacity (8GB to 16GB) to both perform the softmod and save the homebrew apps (like emulators and USB loaders) on. I'm pretty sure the answer is that anything bigger than 1GB will work fine, though I do not know of the compatibility issues that the Wii may have if I do indeed work with an SD card of, let's say, 8GB space capacity to perform the softmod.

Any help on the matter will be appreciated. Can't wait to get started on this project!

I typed this up in another thread, which I think answers your question:

Once you've modded the system, then you can go back to using the larger cards for your "normal use". The hackmii installer is the app that is picky.

Ah, that makes sense. Looks like I'll have to order a 2GB standard SD card online for the time being. Thank you very much for the quick response.
