Wii will not boot from hard drive, but used to work fine?!
Hi, I had a successfully working hard drive with games on it that I've been using on my Wii for a few years now. I stupidly tried to add games (incorrectly) and then ended up having to format my drive. I copied ALL files and folders, and made a back up, then I copied all those back to the hard drive. But it didnt work in my Wii, it just said "couldn't open file...no boot found!!" or something along those lines (Just a black screen with white writing). I have used WBFS and backup manager, followed your instructions and everything I can think of. Backup manager shows my games and their folders, but put it in the Wii, and I just have that black screen again??? Can you help please?

Your post is full of half information. What format is the drive now in? What guide did you follow to format it? What loader and version # are you using? And also post a syscheck, a how to guide is below in my sig.
My drive is now NTFS. I have tried having it WBFS, Fat32, NTFS.
I formatted it using windows formatter, wbfs manager, Wii backup manager, and EasUS PartitionMaster.
I copied all files and folders (Hidden included) to a folder on my computer. When I had formatted the drive, I then copied them all back to the drive. Then I began to transfer my Wii ISO's/Rars using backup manager. I refreshed my covers etc.
The drive had all the same .dol files and other folders that were previously being used to boot from.
Please see attached screen shot to see what I transfer back to the drive once formatted.....

I'm sorry, right now, I am in a rush and don't have the time to do all the steps for a system check. But as soon as I do get time, I will give it a go.

And you only answered one of the questions I asked. When you aren't in such a rush, go back and answer the rest of them. Rushing through stuff like this is exactly how it gets screwed up...
