Wii Mini ariving in the US

The article doesn't state exactly when other than "this holiday season", but Wii Mini comes out in US bundled with Mario Kart Wii for $100.

I just read this on IGN, the mini Wii is a neat little system but kind of pointless. "Full" Wii's can do anything mini's can and then some.

If I spelled something wrong, I'll just blame it on auto-correct

Right. Initially launching in Canada last fall, then expanding into Europe, Wii Mini has no SD card, no network support, no component support.

So you are stuck with the 480i resolution, single-player and local multi-player games only, and you can't backup/move save states.

No Netflix, Shop Channel, and no modding.

Makes sense they would do that now that the production of the Wii has been killed off. If ya want to play online gotta get a Wii U.

If you live in Antarctica, have no significant other, and no kids and need something very... solitary to pass the time (you mean). The "makes sense" part was the cut down version without Gamecube ports, etc... the "Mini Wii" is as outdated as a Mini PC/laptop (aka netbook). I got two of those busted up in a bin here somewhere...

Yeah, IMO the mini Wii would've made much more sense had they not already put out a Wii with no GC ports. It'd have been more logical that way. People looking for a Wii are better off shelling out the extra $30 for a normal Wii (if they can find one new), if not, get a used one for less than $100 that can play GC games.
