That is some loss so early on

Among other tech disasters listed thus far for 2013, this troubling excerpt:
SourceNintendo Wii U
Similar to the Surface RT, the Nintendo Wii U has also struggled to sell. Though it is the successor to the ultra-popular Wii game system, the Wii U has sold so poorly that in July Nintendo reported a $50-million loss in net sales.
What must Nintendo do to recover from such a loss, is this the end of the Nintendo console, will it sell out like Sega?
Nintendo has enough cash on hand that they can have 2 or 3 more flops and still have money. They're not hurting overall. They are just upsetting their investors (and the gamers) at the moment.
That staggering sum relating to this corporation is like you or I losing $10 on the street out of our pocket (to give context).
While it's not a good sign, they're not going anywhere (so relax, lol). Perhaps another reason for the $50 price drop on our front pages news section. They're working on turning the market around and do have the time and the cash reserves to do so...
They also want to get a jump on the XBO and PS4 launches by cutting the price a month before they launch, they are hoping if people buy a Wii U in Sept, they won't be able to buy a console in Nov.
