Is the white Wii U's low memory a problem
Sorry for the new thread but I can't find the answer to my question.I,ve been holding off getting a Wii U got myself a Ps3 instead ,now I want a Wii U and I see amazon have the basic set for £150 which is a big price drop in recent weeks as I have been checking every week .I was planning on getting the deluxe set or zombieU set but with this big change in the price of the basic a difference on £100 ,the basic is looking very good offer.
Now what I want to know is does the WiiU use memory to store game data like the PS3.This was new to me as I was a Wii gamer and I bought a 12gb PS3 and after playing a few different games it displayed there was not enough memory to install game data.So I was like wtf the guy at the store told 12gb was loads of room.I ended up ordering a 500gb HDD after a week of deleting game data everytime I wanted to play a different game.
I will be buying an ex-HDD for whichever Wii U I get but not right away so what benefit does the Deluxe set have really over the basic other than the extra memory and bits and pieces and a copy of nintendoland(which you can buy second hand for £10)
So does the Wii U install game data off discs before you can play them and if so what size memory do the games use and would the 3gb left on the basic be enough to play at least a few games till I can get a hdd
Thanks for taking the time to read this

Hmm, I'll try to break this down for you. Basically it comes down to this; will you be buying a lot of digital games? Like digital versions of game you could easily get the disc for?
See the white Wii U has only 8gb max, and after the system menu and other various system files you're really only left with about 3gb to use. Still much bigger than the old Wii which had only 512mb. So if you'll be buying a lot of retail digital games you won't have enough space to store them on the system itself. However, you can use an external HDD to store games on so if you were to get the white 8gb Wii U and found that it was too small you could expand its space using an external HDD.
Now with the black "deluxe" Wii U you get 32gb (25gb after all is setup) which means you have a lot more room to play around with and will not need a external HDD (or at least won't need one as soon). There is a difference in the price of course but you have to consider that with the white 8gb model you pretty much need to buy external memory so you may spend the same on the Wii U 8gb + extra external memory as you would just getting the black 32gb Wii U.
As for storing game data, the game saves and game updates are relatively small (2,500kb is the biggest I've seen used by any of my games), it's really the eShop downloads that will use up the memory fast. The Wii U cannot actually install games off its discs, but some games are available in both disc and digital form (digital ones are found in the eShop).
3gb should be fine if you'll mostly be playing disc games and downloading maybe a few eShop games (not full games like Injustice Gods Among Us or Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but things like Virtual Console games or Wii U releases similar to WiiWare titles).
Aside from the internal storage space, color, and pack in items, there is no difference in the White and Black Wii U's. They both function exactly the same and have identical specs (minus the internal storage as mentioned).

thanks SNES Master that is the answer I wanted. So the game data is relatively small from game updates and the extra storage on a deluxe is minimal when you consider that a 500gb HDD can be bought for less than £50 and if I was going to be buying a lot of digital content the deluxe's 25gb would be useless in the long run.Now which brings me on to another question why I want the Wii U so much is to play Black ops 2 as I'm a point and shoot guy the PS3 controller doesn't do it for me,I was hoping for a PS3 move update or something but it was not to be,now the question ,I have been buying the map packs on PS3 and they save to the HDD and they can be 2+ gb so I guess it goes without saying but I will anyway this DLC will be save to the WiiU's internal memory but if full would be save to the formatted HDD or SD card or is the SD exclusively for vWii mode
So a £150 8gb white WiiU + £50 500gb HDD is looking better than a £245 32gb black WiiU with a couple of $ plastic bits and a £10 game
This Matter is Solved thank you

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no DLC for Black Ops 2 on Wii U....

I can check again and see how big my New Super Mario update is but I'm pretty sure it was only a few thousand kilobytes (ie, roughly 3-5mb)
Which ever you choose to get is entirely up to you, but whatever you go with I still recommend getting an SD card (which can be used to Softmod the vWii) and a small externally powered HDD (I got a 640gb for $50 on sale but you can go smaller and cheaper if you want). Just make sure you look up SD/HDD compatibility first. I made the mistake of buying a class 10 SDXC card only to find out SDXC won't work with the system.

As far as I have read, CoD Ghosts will not be on Wii U. Feel free to check around yourself though.
Then I only hope activision allow ps move support for Ghosts ,I am truly disappointed about this tragedy not only no BLOPS DLC but now no Ghosts, this means the trio of PS3 ,PS4 and PS Vita is looking to deliver more than the Wii U ever will even the Duo of PS3 and Vita seems better with its cross play and when the PS4 arrives it will be another ballgame,I know I seem to be a sony lover but I only got the ps3 a few months ago ,I was ninty all the way but now I don't know what to believe
Thanks for the good and bad news lads this was emotional
I think it's funny how we seem to need stuff we never needed before, be it sensimilla or DLC.
