    Cool USB to USB wii

Okay so I'm curious would a double sided usb cable work as a hdd for the wii if its plugged into a computer and the usb for the wii? We used to have one and used it for direct transfer from one computer to the laptop and it didn't need any special program once plugged together they would pop up under my computer on both computers so would it work for a external hdd for my backups?

Two entirely different interfaces. Basically, the Wii needs to read data directly from a HDD. A computer's usb ports are not "directly" connected to its HDD. The reason it worked for your PC to PC transfer is because each PC was able to recognize each other (via its operating system) and install the appropriate drivers needed in order to do that. A Wii doesnt work like that.

If you have an external as what appears to be said in post #1, disconnect from PC and connect to Wii. Do your thing on the Wii (assuming FAT32 or NTFS) and then reconnect to PC.

But it didn't need a driver it had a chip inside it that spoofed each computer thinking it was a usb drive instead of a computer itself, like under my computer I would see C: then D: (my other part) then I would see H: which was in turn the other computer connected, It worked for the ps2 so I'm wondering if I should just get another one for the wii instead of buying a enclosed unit for a sata drive?

lol that was cute, basically using a laptop as a HDD using a double sided USB wire, it worked for the ps2 so would it not work with the wii or should I just get a sata enclosed device??

Know what the definition of insanity is? Doing the same thing over and over (repeating the same question in your case), and expecting a different result (than before, namely post #2 and #4). Thread closed.
