    estimated time cloning hd

    Hey. I wanted to know how long would it take to clone my HD using wbfs manager to another HD I have 215 GB of games any ideas any one thanks to whom ever helps

    This can vary WILDLY. 24 hours isn't unheard of... been a good while since I seen a post like this, but we used to get'em all the time back in the day.

    Do yourself a favor and get a copy of Puppy Linux with GParted. Shouldn't take you more than a few hours.

    That is one big disadvantage of wbfs formatted drives. IIRC WBFS Manager has to copy the data to your PC first, then copies it from there to a new drive. Takes twice as long when compared to copying data between fat32 or ntfs drives (since it is direct copying the data)

    Format doesn't matter when using GParted:

    I think there's a GParted live CD, by the way. Don't even need Puppy Linux/DSL/whateva.

    But yeah, WBFS-formatted drives are a pain. I use ext4 now, as it doesn't have the 4GB limitation of FAT32 nor the fragmentation of NTFS. Downside is it's Linux-only, but I've been using Ubuntu exclusively for 3 or 4 years now.
