Thread: Make Wii think USB HDD fat32 is SD card

  1. #1

Question Make Wii think USB HDD fat32 is SD card

I'm wondering if is there a way to remove the hardware part of the SD card from the Wii, and instead use the USB hard drive that is formated as fat32.

So I want the Wii to think that the USB hard drive is the SD card, so I can still download DLC and have my wiiware on it.
I did this guide for my HDD http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...e-fat32-7.html but the Wii still needs the SD card for DLC and whatnot...

    Is this possible?

Pretty much no. I suppose it would be possible to do some circuitry voodoo and make some sort of converter, but that would be way more trouble that it's worth. Why exactly do you want to do this? You can get a compatible 32GB SD card for under $30, which will hold all the DLC you'll ever need and then some.

I wanted it because the SD card is really really slow compared to the HDD :/ + no need to spend more money on a new SD card...

A class 10 card that has up to 30MB/s of read speed will be perfectly fine. And $25-$30 isn't really that much. And you would most likely be fine with less than 32GB and it'll cost even less.

I don't have any experience with game save emulation, sorry. Search around for it on the forums.
