How long does it take YOU to softmod a wii?

following the softmod any wii guide on here it take same 90mins to 20 hours to complete a softmod.. Im curious to see how long everyone else takes.. Im trying to determine if the process really is that long (as opposed to softmodding a psp which can be done in 10 mins) or if its just me whos slow

It took my brother 6-7 hours when he did it but now that I'm pretty well versed on the process it only takes about 30min or so (I'm estimating, I don't know the exact time frame but I know it was under 1hr). But it's not a race, you should always take your time lest you mess something up and have a fancy paperweight.

20 hours??? holy nuts. The longest part of the the process is making the nand backup, which takes maybe 20 minutes. If its your first time doing a wii, maybe 2 or 3 hours, nominally for me about 30 minutes, with only 5 of that being active participation.

I think the first time I modded the system, it was about 2-4 hours. The process has been streamlined since then and I've modded my system a few times, so I'm used to the process. Outside of the NAND backup, it takes about 20 minutes.

Probably about the same as llaffer. The longest part is easily the NAND backup. The constant formatting of the SD card is also a little time consuming (but I don't always do that. Shhh!).

lol that was a typo i meant 2 housr not 20 lmao.. but yeah the NAND backup seem to tae 30 minutes of that time.. the rest is doing the checksum verify everytime.. Im sure if it checksum verify part was eliminated and the nand backup was faster (or eliminated) then it could be done in 30 mins or less

That's not going to happen. You NEED to do those things. Probably the most important parts of the guide.

That's about how long it takes me. NAND backup takes 10-15 minutes.

multiple sd cards. But the amount of time it takes to do an md5 check is directly related to processor speed. With a good pc it takes nearly no time.
