can this drive play back ups

I have run the serial code through the wii drive database and came back with the following
The console has model number RVL-001(EUR), produced for the European market.

There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C2 (v2) and the drive has the new metal clip.

does this mean i can play back ups ive been trying to find a list off drives with the information is there one anywhere

    thanks in advance

Yes, your wii can indeed play back-up disc's.

You should have a look here Thinking About Hacking Your Wii....

Pay mind to the "Spoiler" That says "I have a (white/black/red/blue) wii, what can I do to it?"...and then another spoiler that says " I wonder.... is my Wii old enough to play backups?'
That is where you will find a link to the Chip set data base and other info.

Yes , you can play back ups from that drive.
I would rather you load games through the Usb Port , but that is your decision.

It stresses the wii laser/drive when you play back ups off of it, you should use the original disc in that case.(That's My Opinion.)
