Thread: Thinking of buying

  1. #1
Hey, not very familiar with the 3DS scene... Looking to buy a 3DS (or XL)
Is there anything I should know before purchasing it. I know that there are flash kards that will let me put 3ds game backups onto them so I don't need to carry around all my games. How does it work and which ones should I get for each 3ds?

You cant play 3ds backups on a r4 card only ds backups.

I have the supercard ds2 and works great on my 3ds and dsi.

All the flash carts will only let you play ds games and no flash cart will play 3ds games. i would recommend you buy either r4i gold 3ds or supercard dstwo, check the post here i recommend these cards for 3ds V4.5.0-10 and dsi V1.45 .
Do yourself a favor, don't buy crappy flashcarts.

Not too much, if your 3ds currently is on the latest firmware V4.5.0-10, make sure the flash cart you buy will work on it directly, means the card is pre-flashed for you. If your 3ds is on the old firmware, then you can wait until you receive the card and update your 3ds after you test the card. for the future 3ds update, just remember, do not update your 3ds instantly, you should update your flash cart before you update the 3DS console!
