Thread: Wii Remotes not syncing on Soft modded Wii HELP!!!

  1. #1

Exclamation Wii Remotes not syncing on Soft modded Wii HELP!!!

I have a 4.3u Softmodded Wii which was working perfectly until recently. Last week I modified IOS based on this http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/92661-driver-san-francisco-guide.html to be able to run Driver. It worked perfectly until I shut down and restarted Wii. Since that then the two Wii remotes will not sync with the console. I do NOT have a Game Cube controller.

The system boots fine and reaches the home screen where I can see all the channels, but the Wii remote does not connect no matter what combination of buttons and syncing I try. I have already tried all the sync techniques described on the Internet including holding and not holding but just pressing the Red button next to the SD Card slot.

More or less the only keys are working are those on the console. I can hold the reset button and get into the system menu but I cannot move or do anything at all.

I may or may not have the backup NAND. At least I could not readily find it though I am searching for it yet. Even if I find it I don't know how I can activate it without the remote control.

In desperation I also tried to connect a USB Keyboard to see if it would allow me to navigate, but no use at all, No key combination I pressed (like arrow, Ctrl+arrow etc.) worked.

Is there anyway out of this?

A "GBA Controller," what?! Maybe you're speaking of a Game Cube Controller? "What same problem," you speak as if you're posting in a thread with this issue (you're not). It certainly wasn't a wiihacks softmod guide that had you fooling with cIOS 250. Start here:

Whenever you had installed BootMii --- was it as boot2 (older Wiis) or IOS? When you turn on the Wii, does the blue led that encircles the disc opening flash once during power up, or twice in rapid succession?

If you recall (again, noticed you kind of sidestepped the question), I'm assuming you either took matters into your own hands, or followed some other "fail guide" than a wiihacks one (in making the modification you speak of). Would this be correct? If so, did you ask THOSE FOLKS first?

I'm not trying to be mean-spirited, simply illustrating what happens (someone else has you make a mess, then we're left with picking up the pieces). Does the Wii power on and/or off with either Wiimote? You did press the wiimote red button at the same time as the red button by the Wii's SD card, right?

The blue light flashes once during power up. I tried it a couple of times.

The 'System Menu' screen on holding the reset button provides the following additional information

    IOS v60
    Systemmenu v 54449
    priiloader v0.7 (r138)
Priiloader is a mod of Preloader 0.30

And the following additional information from the SD Card.

    sysCheck v2.1.0b19 by Double_A and R2-D2199 Nano

OK, at first you said you monkeyed with cIOS 250 and now you've edited that out of your post. The guide you cite had (at the time) suggested d2x V6 249 with a 56 base. The d2x has continually evolved and V8 final is out and V9 is in beta. The "Softmod ANY Wii" guide here if followed would've accomplished the same thing (albeit with V8 final).

At the time that guide was written, USB Loader GX was earlier in development. There was no absolute need to get "only" that particular version. The latest version can be downloaded here. Did you install it as a channel, a forwarder, or as HBC-only? If either of the last two, you could download it to your SD card folder. I'd delete the contents of your USB Loader GX folder on the card (meaning your existing install) before doing so.

Edit: that's an incomplete SysCheck, only show cIOS 249 and nothing else!

Nightstah, I actually did what you are saying but the game was not working. I had upgraded to the latest USB Loader GX and upgraded to d2x V8 as it was release version vs v9 which was beta. Since the game refused to work even after all that, I downgraded the 249 to d2x v6, and still the game would not work so I installed USB Loader GX 2.2. To the best of my knowledge I have installed it as a forwarder not as a channel. I remember having uploaded my full syscheck from Wii but I can't recall the URL.

Is there any way to get the prii loader to update an IOS at boot up without the need to press any keys at all? That way I could try to restore the newer IOS 249 with d2x v7 over what I now have maybe?

    Gentlemen please HELP!

I cannot run a system check now because of the very reason I am in trouble, viz the remotes don't sync with the console so there is nothing I can do.

I have this system check from a previous run. After this system check I changed IOS 249 as mentioned above and possible ISO 250 which I can't recall for sure.

From that system check , I can't see anything wrong.
I know you already tried this, but can you try one last time to clear your remotes sync.

Power on the wii "from" the wii and hold the Sync button on the wii for 15 to 20 seconds.
Now press the sync buttons on both the wii-mote and the wii,Do Not Hold those sync buttons down...Just press them.
The only other thing I can think of is that It could be your Bluetooth.
