    WiiBrowser Rev37

WiiBrowser is an alternative browser for the Wii by homebrew developer gave92. This is based on the WiiXplorer project and uses libwiigui for its GUI.

    Features

    • HTML 4.01
    • CSS -> really really basic
    • http/https connections
    • file download
    • bookmarks
    • these image formats: PNG/JPEG/GIF/BMP
    • web forms

It Does Not Support (But Maybe it Will):

    • videos -> of any kind (youtube..)
    • flash
    • multiple tabs

It has been awhile since I have used my wii and boot.dol things, can someone tell me how to get it to work if I download the latest boot.dol? I thought you just need to make a folder with it inside of the apps folder, but it is not showing up in hbc.

havent done this version yet... but if its a zip file, make sure u unzip on pc... then move the entire folder to your apps folder...

just DLed this file, folder is called "wiibrowser"... the entire thing should go in apps folder, not just the boot.dol file... should have the boot.dol, meta, icon, and wiibrowser.cfg files there...

like i said havent installed it yet, but as far as i know, that should be it..

The link is broken. Why hasn't there been more feedback about this? Sounds like it could be awesome.

EDIT: Just the download link is broken.

This has potential. It will come in useful when I need to grab a file off the web for some reason. I think adding USB keyboard support should be a priority, though.

Which reminds me, why hasn't someone done a straight port of Lynx? Seems like it would be ideal with the Wii, coupled with a keyboard at least.

Opera's not that bad given it's from 2007 and running on hardware equivalent to a late model G3 iMac.

Which is more than I can say for the Internet Browser on my months old Sony TV, that runs out of memory and closes on sites that even the Wii can handle.
