    Homebrew Channel not loading anything

About 2 years ago I had my wii softmodded, and I'm looking to start using it again. I can't remember what softmod I used, but I have the homebrew channel and backup channel on the main menu. I don't have the SD card I used anymore. At the time I was using it I could load up backed up games, and programs through the homebrew channel (can't remember which ones though).

Going through the tutorial, I downloaded the and extracted it's contents to a SD card. This is where I'm stuck.

When I connect it to the wii and open the homebrew channel, I get a flashing globe in the bottom right corner. When I open up the homebrew channel I get a "network not initialized" message in the top right corner. The homebrew version is 1.0.1 and OIS36 v4.18, whatever that means.

Can someone help me figure out how to get my wii working again? I need to use the balance board asap!

Why not post the issue in the thread of the guide, simular to what others do when they have an issue with it?
Sent from my van, down by the river.
