    Question Game Backup -Question-

I am currently using a 16gb flash drive to play backup games. When I buy an external HDD in a couple of weeks I want to free up my flash drive and put the backups on the HDD. Will my progress on the games go with the backups? Or will it be saved on the Wii console itself?

Are you saving the games to EmuNand or the systems internal NAND?

If you've been saving them to the real NAND your saves are on the system and you don't need to do anything, they'll work fine. If you use EmuNAND you'll have to copy your NAND folder to the new drive.

If you don't know how to tell if your using EmuNAND, you're not using EmuNAND.

Anyway, go to Wii settings from the Wii main menu. Choose data management then choose Wii, then choose save data. If you see all your game saves there they're on the Wii itself and do not need to be transferred.

Storing backups on a HDD or a flash drive can be a pain I think. Had loads of issues with how the Wii deals with the HDD (breaking down and stuff). Would recommend just using plain old DVD discs. GameBackupSystem (Google it, if you wish) makes decent 1:1 backups. I would use the HDD for dual layer discs and maybe loading WADS or emulator games.

If you're using updated loaders, cIOS, and a supported drive, USB loading is pretty seamless. I've yet to have one problem with it. Disks break, they simply stop working after a while, they're slow, etc. But to each his own, I suppose.

My drive does not support dvd backups
And my HDD works great with USB Loader gx and Configurable USB loader I've had no issues what so ever by using Mauifrogs guide with all the updated info wads, apps, cios they provide so I'm a happy hacker
