Thread: Wii will not read any backups

Wii will not read any backups

My wii is currently on 4.1u.
Girlfriend wanted Netflix and had updated to 4.3bu in order to access the market.
I had the hbc still installed so I used it to reinstall bootmii, priiloader, etc. I had used the guide "update all iOS" in hopes of that solving my wii's problem of not reading backups.
The guide did not work, I still received "unable to read disc" using neogamma r9b56. The disc channel does not read the backups either, something that Wiikey used to do.
I used dopmii to downgrade back to 4.1u to see if that would make any difference and it sadly did not.

All retail games work fine and I have tried my backups on DVD+r and DVD-r media. With the DVD+r I am able to load the game through the disc channel, but still receive reading errors. DVD-r is verbatim and I burned at 4x speed with imgburn. They cannot be read at the disc channel but neogamma can read every games ID fine.

I thought it might be a cios problem but I have tried at least 6 different guides and nothing works. Here is my syscheck

When she updated she removed your mod, follow the ANY Wii guide in my sig to fix it. It will install all cIOSs you need and Priiloader to block updates so this doesn't happen again.

Do the full guide starting from "mods with HBC installed", don't skip anything.

Bump.. Still have no idea what the issue is. Before she had it upgraded to 4.3 backups on disc worked fine

You've got some messed up cIOS. Run through the Softmod Any Wii guide (link in my sig) and you should be good to go.

^^ This! I was in a situation similar to yours, softmodded wii on firmware 4.2u that lost softmod after update to 4.3u, followed everything the mod any wii guide said and now it's perfect.

I answered this already, when she updated to 4.3 it killed your mod that's what the issue is and why it played backups on discs before but doesn't now.

Oh, didn't know you did that. Sorry.

So yeah, when a staff member answers you, they're probably right (even if their avatar says "nOOb." on it). Anyway, as you've apparently been told twice, fix your mod.

It used to be a SNES system, one of the mods changed it on me cause I accidentally posted a NoobTube video made by another site (thought it was from one of our other users, but I posted the wrong video).

But yeah, my first post in this thread I told him what was wrong and how to fix it yet he made another post today saying he still doesn't know what's wrong....

Oddly enough, you're first post hadn't loaded until now. I didn't see it, so I'm guessing he didn't either. I thought you meant you told him in a different thread or something. Not sure what happened there.

Hmm...maybe that post got modded for some reason? I can't see why...unless this whole thread is being modded.
