Post How to load games from a dvd-R with a black wii.

Hi to all, and thanks in advance.

I followed the Mauifrog guide to hack my wii and i load my backs up from a HDD, but my friend bought a wii and he will use an external disc drive, we followed again the Softmod any wii guide and all great, and that wii now can load the games that i have in my HDD but doesn't read the dvd-R in the external drive.

    ¿What we need to?

    PD. excuse my bad english.

I don't think there are any applications that support reading from an external disk drive. I'd just stick with the HDD.

Here is a video showing you that it can be done via Uloader.

    Removed Outside Link.

The drive that works is....cBear External USB DVD LG GDR-8082N

I've never messed with ULoader, as it's pretty old. I suppose you could find somebody who has, though.

    I'd appreciate it.
By the way, that wii only have mods from the mauifrog guide, and is 4.3, so i was reading and seems that it needs to work cIOS 222/223 Hermes and the uLoader, but, i don't really know how to install them, or where to get them, or if it is dangerous to the Wii.

If you followed the mauifrog guide then you will have cios 222/223 installed. Get Uloader from the link below, choose manual download.
Once you have downloaded and extracted uloader, there will be a folder called apps inside that folder will be the uloader app, just copy it to your apps folder on your SD card.

should look like this on your SD
    SD/apps/uloader

Launch it via the homebrew channel

    Download uLoader 5.1E
