Downgrading to 3.2 without HBC
I have no HBrew installed and I have a d2pro modchip and Wii firmware 3.4.
Q1 : Is there any utility out there that will patch an iso with Wii firmware 3.2 (similar to Wii Update Manager) and then allow me to downgrade my Wii Firmware from 3.4 to 3.2 via this iso ... maybe via my modchip allowing this downgrade or the utility spoofing the firmware version, etc.?
I'm currently putting off going via the HBrew route as my modchip performs all I need, so far.
Q2 : If I do downgrade via the HBrew route can I remove all HBrew and still have a downgraded 3.2 Wii?
You can downgrade to 3.2, by using the twilight glitch and having the specific programs on the root of your sd card and just running the hack several times to get all the applications needed, but I dont see why you would want to do that. If you dont want to use Homebrew, then you wont be able to install the IOS's, and CIOS's needed to play all the newest games. By downgrading, you are pretty much removing all the newest updates needed to play the newest games. The only way to play the newest games will be to have Homebrew installed and install the newest "homebrew" updates, or keep your wii updated thru Big N's official updates.

You mention that the only way to play the newest games; if you have firmware 3.2, is via the HBC, is this so? i thought I could merely remove the update from the iso using wiibrickblocker and then burn the game and run it.
BTW: I know about the Twilight/HBC route and the HBC downgrade route.
I would say leave things alone. Unless there is a reason for everyone who has a modchip to downgrade then I wouldn't. The clue would be when you see the flood of posts recommending you do so. As it stands a lot of people have 3.4 and a modchip. No one is rushing out to downgrade I can see, at least not the people with modchips. The flood of downgraders is the folks doing the softmod.
I have a d2pro and firmware 3.4 and I play all games - just keep in mind that you have to download backups in raw state!!
Scrubbed or modified iso's won't work in firmware 3.4.
If you want a 100% homebrew experience and play scrubbed/modified iso's then you have to downgrade to firmware 3.2.
just to add a note on this topic please... i have a 3.3u; wasabi zero (disabled import and domestic updates); d2e; no homebrew apps; wii, most of the wii games that i download have been working well both pal and nstc, however, some games, appear in the disk channel, i click start, but it goes to a black screen, is this an issue with the 3.3u firmware, or an issue with the game? as did the person that began this thread, i would like to get all the games working without going the homebrew path,
also just anothe quick question, when i burn multigame disks with gamecube games, the menu comes up in the disk channel, when i select the games (auto detect for the region), it just goes to either the blue or green screen and does not go any further, however, i have burned multigame disks where the games have indeed worked, so it's not like none of the gamecube games i've downloaded haven't worked...some have .... so my question is.... the cause of those green blue screens... is that also due to the firmware i have 3.3u or is due to a bad iso ?
once again thanks so much... i app any help or feedback if any
The problem is the region!
Try to disable region patch with the utility disk 1.7 of the d2pro and some games may work!
However some not! Example No More Heroes NTSC in the Pal wii gives me black screen with or without region patch enabled in the modchip, the only way that I could play this game was using the Gecko OS loader!
Gecko OS Loader gives you 100% region free and the games will work, but for this you have to downgrade to firmware 3.2 and install homebrew channel and gecko os
PS: Yep meanwhile I downgraded my Wii because of no more heroes :P
