"Please plug a USB HDD on port 0 or press reset"

Hi I bought a soft modded nintendo wii about a year ago and everything worked fine and about 2 months ago I moved to a new house and now I get the message "Please plug a USB HDD on port 0 or press reset" when I load WiiFlow. I have it plugged into the right port and i've tried using a few different cables and am still getting the message. I've tried reseting the devices and nothing. When I plug the HD into the computer I can't access it and it gives me the error message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I never tried loading it on the pc until the move though so I don't know if it worked on a pc before the wiiflow error or not. I don't know much about the issue and I didn't find any solid answers when I searched so any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a definite HDD problem. Use the windows utility that checks and repairs disk errors. It takes a while - but it's worth it.

If the PC is not even recognizing the drive - which would mean you couldn't even run the disk check - then I wouldn't really know what to do.
