Spyman, I've been looking at modding my wii and was leaning towards the d2pro. Would you recommend this over the d2pro? I don't mind soldering and don't mind saving a couple of extra dollars either, although I can spend the extra money for the drive key if there's a good reason. My console is d2c2. Any advantage in going with the drive key besides not needing to solder?

I know I went with the drivekey for these reasons:
    1. I soldered every other chip on ps1, ps2, and xbox. Now I'm getting older and lazy and just want something to plug and play.
    2. I'm hoping it won't have the eject issues like alot of other chips I read about.
Featurewise I don't see really anything new just the installation. The 3x drive speed limit doesn't really bother me it's still 3.96meg a second. Who knows maybe a new firmware will help with that.

I have a D2E with GOO and I'm torn between getting this or a modchip and trying to remove the Goo. Any recommendations?

depends how strapped for cash you are... drivekey runs at 3x, i dont know if that makes much of a difference as i havent seen anything run at 3x, so not sure if loading times do increase or if they stay about the same, same as if cut scenes go choppy like the softmod etc?

if u are looking something cheap, dremel away the epoxy and solder the bitch in
