Thread: Can I use a 32GB SD Card instead of 2 GB??

Question Can I use a 32GB SD Card instead of 2 GB??

    Hello all,
Before I proceed on something that I been wanting to do for a while, I would like to first ask the experts here if it's safe to do so. When I softmodded my Wii using letterbomb, I followed some very detailed youtube videos. Somewhere on the modding process the person doing the tutorial said something about using a 2GB SD card ONLY, and that anything bigger than 2GB would not work. So, since I already got emulators and stuff working, I was hoping to copy everything from the 2GB SD card to a 32GB SD card and using that instead. I would like to use the 32GB card for extra space so that I can add more roms to the emulators. So my question is, is it safe to copy and paste and use a 32GB SD card or will this mess everything up??

you fail on following youtube, but that is not relevant now.
as for the larger sd card, try it and see if it works, what's the worst thing that can happen, it won't work? lol

Yeah, I know I FAILED for following youtube but only because I didn't know about this site until after I modded my Wii. Youtube is out the window now, so here I am. I guess you're right, what's the worst thing that could happen right? I'll give it a go this weekend and see what happens, thanks.

The 2 gb card is recommended for the modding process itself. Once the mod is complete the you should be able to use whatever size card you want.

Thanks for the info dude, I was wondering if it was safe or not. Thanks to you, I now know it's safe and I will proceed with a 32G card.

do a little research on what card has the most issues and stay away from the cheap ones .

I think a very well known card is the SanDisk, so I'll go ahead and try that 32GB one. Thanks guys.

Just FYI, I tried a 16GB card cause they didn't have 32GB at the moment, and it works. Thanks guys for the info.
