how to install Free McBoot 1.8b, to upgrade on 1.8

hi guys i need your help, i already did the softmod my PS2

after this i can see like this screen “Free McBoot, Version 1.8, Browser, System Configuration, uLaunchELF, ESR, HD Loader, Simple Media System, Launch disc, Reload configuration, Free McBoot Configurator”,.

but i want to upgrade my PS2 on to "Free McBoot 1.8b", so i like to know "How to upgrade my PS2.

I put Free_McBoot_1.8b on USB then connect usb to PS2, & click on uLaunchELF on tv after this where i have to go to install "Free McBoot 1.8b", please let me know.

when i browse my usb on ps2 by pressing on CIRCLE, after this where i have to click to install it.

    thanks for your replies

Turn on PS2 with usb drive plugged in. Select uLaunch from the PS2 menu, press the x button to run uLaunch. Press the circle button to browse. Scroll down to mass, then press the circle button to open the USB drive. Find the Free McBoot installer, select it and press the circle to run it. Then follow the on screen instructions.

You should now have.Open PS2 Loader on the PS2 instead of HD Loader. Patched discs will auto run. Plus some other updates.

hi there, i try this two files,

1)-when i delete old noobe pkg & copy on usb new noobe pkge (Free McBoot 1.8b Noobie Package) then connect to ps2, follow all steps then click on "multi version install", after this installation success, then reboot ps2 , still i am getting "HD Loader" (and i can't see this "Open PS2 Loader"), & on top it shows 1.8 only (never shows 1.8b), so what i am doing wrong in this step.

2)-i copy "Free_McBoot_1.8b" to usb drive then connect to ps2, brows to this folde "Free_McBoot_1.8b" & select 2nd option “multi version install” (message shows - NO BOOT.ELF detected in your INSTALL folder!), so what i am doing wrong.

i downloaded the files from this place "sksapps".

    Please make me correct,

    thankks

What you need to do is unpack the rar. copy the install folder & the Free McBoot installer.elf, to the root of your USB drive. Then install it with uLaunch.
It will still say 1.8 on the menu, but now you should have Open PS2 Loader and all the other updates.

    hi there, thanks again.

i install the above file now i can see this on tv screen.

“Free McBoot, Version 1.8 (here missing b again), Browser, System Configuration, uLaunchELF, ESR, Open PS2 Loader, Simple Media System, Launch disc, Reload configuration, Free McBoot Configurator”,.

only the thing i am missing here is on the top is shows "Free McBoot [Version 1.8], it is not showing 1.8b. so do you think still i am fime, please let me know.

    UPDATE :
i read your post, as you said 1.8 is fine.....thanks.

one more thing "i am not sure may be our site not allow other site live links, may be you have to remove that link. as i said i really don't know", because in my prevous post i did a mistake to ask a question which is not allow. so i dont want to see there is any problem for that link.

    thanks.

Yeah that all looks good. I thought ESR was now ESR-GUI.
